Kaposi sarcoma 100%[1] 10/10[1]

Expression in Non-Neoplastic EntitiesEdit

Pertinent NegativesEdit

This antigen is typically NOT expressed by the following:

  • rhabdomyosarcomas[1]
  • desmoplastic small round cell tumors[1]
  • high-grade pleomorphic sarcomas[1]
  • colonic adenocarcinomas[1]
  • melanomas[2]

Practical Uses / PanelsEdit

FLI-1 is a marker for benign or malignant vascular tumors and has a sensitivity and specificity similar to CD31, CD34 and von Willebrand factor in identifying endothelium. FLI-1 is a nuclear stain that lacks the cytoplasmic and membranous staining artifacts of CD31, CD34 and von Willebrand factor. [2]
